I think that this is one of the most beautiful angels that you have posted. She has a deeply spiritual quality unlike the more cherubic angels of the past ~ more of the divine feminine about her -something very forthright and good. I like it and the haiku is lovely. I didn't haiku today. I did something different for a friend. xo, Noelle
This ANGEL is soOOooO pretty,is that pine draped around her shoulders?!! and the raising of the roses!!! SWEET! I wish we could have statues on our graves but my final resting place, they don't allow them anymore!!Drat!!I have 2 places really, the story of the country mouse and the city mouse, well, my husband is the city mouse and the other resting place is upon a hill out in the country(out in the sticks!)for country mice like me! I have to decide where I would rather be, beside my city mouse or upon a hill lonely, well NOT, most of my relatives are buried here but mom and dad won't be soOOo whatever!!!
Sometimes things aren't what they seem. We settle in somewhere, thinking it's going to be safe and hospitable and just what we hoped for, a magical haven that provides us shelter from harm. Then reality sets in and we realize that we were mistaken. That soft place to land turns out to be quite a bit less soft than we'd anticipated. In fact sometimes things get downright hard and cold and unforgiving. Not at all what we expected. Do we stay and make the best of it or fly away to build a new nest somewhere else? Sometimes the most valuable lessons come from learning to see the beauty right in front of your eyes. Sometimes we bloom most gloriously when we learn to thrive just where we are and come to love just what we have. Maybe each of us is exactly where we need to be, learning lessons custom-made for us.
