For joy this week. . . .  I talked to my dear friend Adrienne and found out her eldest son Riley got an invitation to play in a band. Way to go Riley! I  I've been spending time with my friend Jen (on the right, below) while she's in recovery mode after surgery to fix her elbow after a bad fall. After realizing that she couldn't manage salad making with her right arm in a cast, I made a trip to the Safeway salad bar today and got all kinds of already-chopped-up veggies, chickpeas, eggs, and cheese for her salad making ease. Plus a slice of cheescake slathered in strawberries which we split.  YUM! What's on your mind this week? How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it. I'm signing the listing agreement on Friday for the house I'm selling (soon) and the staging expert will do the finishing touches as soon as the painters are finished working their magic. Then the photographer will come and do pictures  for the website so it can go into the MLS. I will be overJOYed when someone falls in love with the gorgeous home that's sheltered and wrapped its arms around me for the past 16 years. I'll finally be able to  and fall in love with the new house and make it my own. What's on your mind this week? How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it. I'm not back to spending loads of artful time on Polyvore --- too much to do -- but this little piece I did took 4th place in a contest this week. I'm a big fan of blue. And speaking of colors, my new real estate agent is pushing hard for me to repaint the living room, dining room, hallway, den and kitchen-family rooms before the house is relisted. So I'm currently thinking a LOT about color. What's on your mind this week? How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it. Share the Joy: Spring Has Sprung (at least in the Pacific Northwest)

Spring is a good joy activator. The talking heads on the news say the tulips are a-bloom in the Skagit Valley. The Tulip Festival  always makes a nice field trip,  especially  on weekdays, when the traffic's not so heavy. You can stand back for a sweeping view, or get close up and personal with individual tulips. It's fun to choose your favorites and imagine them popping up next year in your yard but in my case, there's a little reality check, because deer just LOVE munching tulips and there are lots of deer who visit the garden at my new house. (And just in case you're wondering,  no, I'm not living there yet. I took my house off the market when the original listing agreement expired and it will soon be listed with a new realtor.) Speaking of munching, the local farmers' market opens on Saturday. And finally, I'm overjoyed that I've been able to work on the garden at the new house, even
