Share the Joy: Summertime. . . .

Image
SUMMERTIME. . . . and the living is easy.  (Can you tell I saw Porgy and Bess last weekend?) It's a good time for field trips  to scenic towns with Victorian houses and cute little shops and a little regatta off shore. It's a good time to watch the boys of summer (especially if they're winning). . . .    It's a great time to walk along the harbor in the pretty little village where you live and be conscious of how blessed you are, right here, right now. It's an amazing time to look out toward the bird feeder and see a goldfinch perching there, in all his glory.  A great time to browse the farmer's market to find the best and freshest veggies and fruits for stir-fry or salads. A time to just say, Yes! and  Thanks. There's joy just for the taking. How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it. Share it.   1. do a post that tells and shows what gives you joy.   2. capture

Share the Joy: Back Again

More joy. . . .  street musicians Broadway musicals -- my faves right now are Wicked and Once. . .  oh, and Book of Mormon was a hoot. One of the splurges I lavish on myself each year is season tickets to two musical series. While I don't much like writing those checks, it brings me great joy to see a musical with a friend (or three). Let's see. What else? Artfully presented latté drinks, though I prefer chai lattés to coffee-based drinks. My beloved was always a big coffee drinker, but after he became someone else's squeeze, I became a tea drinker. Maybe I should sound exotic and say, "I became a tea temptress." Oh, and salads. . .  with crisp, fresh veggies. Yum!  It brings joy to my tummy to sit down to a salad meal. (And since I love cooking for others, but not just for myself, salads are often on the menu.) How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it.

Share the Joy: Joy List

What gives you JOY? For me, the list includes: Reflections Garden shops Flowers at Pike Place Market (especially lilacs and lilies) the whine of bagpipes as befits the Scot part of my ancestry and petting my furry felines, who are always eager to sit in my lap (or on my keyboard).
