Mosaic Monday: A French Theme

Last week, I took you to
the gardens of Monet's Giverny
and down the block to the Ancien Hotel Baudy.

This week, how about a pictorial exploration
of castles, French-style?

Top row: Azay Le Rideau, Villandry from the gardens
Center row: Chateau Chinon, Chenonceau (my personal favorite)
spanning the River Cher, Chateau d'Amboise
Bottom row: Cheverny and Chateau de Chambord,
a French Renaissance masterpiece
with a double-helix staircase, 440 rooms and
365 fireplaces.

The splendor of these places, the history
of royalty and aristocracy embedded energetically
in those rooms -- mind boggling!
