Share the Joy: Small Servings of Joy

Image
Nothing big to report. Joy comes in small packages. . . .  The unfolding of a perfect ranunculus. A private place to curl up with a good book (old-fashioned or Kindle) or take a nap with sweet dreams. The bright glow of a super moon. A cup of gelato on a hot day (particularly if you're watching gondolas glide along the Grand Canal). How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it. Little sparks of joy! Beautiful parks with charming statues. A working waterfront with paved walking and bike trails. The best little non-profit indie theater in the whole wide world. Sweet red peppers stuffed with hot, gooey goat cheese. Cute little aprons that make me think about cooking. How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it. Share the Joy: Fresh Peaches and Frolicking Puppies

The puppy love continues unabated. This housebreaking thing  is working like a charm.  She rarely has an accident in the house and she only used puppy pads the first day. I will report that Nugget is now Oreo. The adult children renamed her and I acquiesced because she's one smart cookie. (By the way, my estimate of 4 pounds was far too generous -- she weighs in a 2.5 pounds). Besides puppies, what's bringing me joy? The smell of ripe peaches in the grocery store  and at farmer's market. There's a brown paper bag on the kitchen counter  holding a fragrant pair just waiting to be devoured. Yum! Share the Joy: Laughter

This week I have been the repository of abundant laughter. There is a new princess in my life. She's about 10 weeks old and her name is Nugget (unless I change my mind). Her antics constantly have me laughing. . . .  though I must say, my feline King and Queen are not so amused at the little court jester. She weighs about 4 pounds and is about a quarter of their size, but her boundless energy seems to be a bit intimidating. As for me, I'm smitten with how fast she's catching on to everything, including going potty as soon as she has a chance to sniff the grass at the appointed spot. And she's only been with me for 2 days. Anyone want to guess how long it will be before Purrsnickety will let her nap with him? How are you cultivating joy?  Celebrate it.
