Share the Joy: Field Trip

Image
Fun day today, with a multifaceted field trip. On the down side, I brought neither camera nor phone, so I'll have to wing it for illustrations this time. First, my daughter and I browsed a couple of antique stores and then bought some truffles at the candy store. Her girls had a half day of school due to conferences, so  we met the school bus and headed off to Port Gamble , an historic town from the 1850s or so. After a yummy, late lunch and a short sweep  through the gift shop. Serenity found some buffalo jerky and Jonna found a bottle of fizzy, peach flavored soda. What gave you joy this week? Notice joy. It may not sound like much to celebrate, but I'm happy to have learned that my thyroid has gone seriously sideways and that's why I'm always cold and tired. Remedy: upping my dosage of thyroid meds. It's the old thing about lighting a candle. . . .  Let's see. What else? I took a date to see a couple of exhibits at Tacoma Art Museum. One was the Camille Patha show and the other, an Agnes Martin show.  "Art Groupies at the Opening" - created on Polyvore.com/merimagic When you're an art lover, it's always telling to have an art date. What did I learn? He likes bright colors and couldn't figure out how to pronounce Agnes. He's willing to try something new, but He drives like an elderly man (he turned the wrong way on a one-way street, even though it was posted: WRONG WAY - DO NOT ENTER and doesn't follow oral directions worth spit either. So much joy to savor and share. . . .  like this blog post from Laura Lein-Svencner where she walks us through the process of making a collage piece that includes this snippet © 2014 Laura Lein-Svencner and becomes every so much more glorious as she goes along. I've vowed to play more on Polyvore because it tunes up my soul. . . . "Some Things Defy Explanation" ©2013 Meri Arnett-Kremian What sparked the fire of joy in you this week? Notice joy. Oh yeah -  it smells like spring and now that the bronchitis coughing frenzy seems to have subsided, I'm feeling a strong urge to play. I've had to temper that joyful urge just a little bit in order to get the tax info ready for the CPA and to interview 8 potential real estate agents/brokers. (Yes, after 6 months with no offers on my house, I broke up with my agent. I adore her personally, but it was time for a new set of eyes on the sale).  So  I'm trying to gaze into the future to ascertain who will get the best result for me and imagining my joy at transferring my much-loved home to its next owner.
