What I Know for Sure

Here are some things I know for sure.

Roses aren't worth growing unless they smell like roses.

A cup of chai or caffe latté, no matter how pretty,
will always taste better if a friend's feet are
under the table.

By the time you pick up your camera, turn it on and focus,
the hummingbird is long gone from the vine maple
outside your computer room window.

Cats have an amazing capacity to make themselves comfortable,
a skill we should all emulate.

A full moon on a clear night will always be
the best show in town.

Eagles tend to hold still a little longer than hummingbirds,
particularly if you're across the pond and they don't know
you've got a camera in your hands.

Even if you're past your prime
you can still be gorgeous.

What do you know for sure today?

all so true! i do not care much for roses that do not smell like roses... and wilt as soon as they are cut.
i know for sure that time spent doing nothing with my loved ones is time well spent (even if you have a zillion and one things that you need to do).

Of the 7 things you know for sure I mostly share the full moon being the best show in town. On a night like last night and the night before, I want to be like Chinese philosophers, drunk on the moon!

I too, know I am loved.

And last night's moon was fabulous over water...

Excellent. What I know for sure is that there is always a road to be traveled, and that small pleasures are really the things that make me happiest.

Have a wonderful weekend.
