Nature's Paintbox

Here's what I didn't see last week
but found yesterday:
the colors unearthed
after a few warm, sunny days.

Broad swaths of color.
Rows and rows of tulips dancing
and swaying in the gentle breeze.
Nature's paintbox arrayed
in all its splendor.

A vista that commanded you
to STOP
pay attention
take in the beauty
all around you.

What colors your world today?
What makes you pause,
focus, and devote your full attention
to the beauty that surrounds you?

What colors! A field like that really does stop you! Glad you paused and shot it!

Ahhh --that field of tulips absolutely takes my breath away. I want to dive in and swim for a very long, long time.

What makes me pause and take in my surroundings? birdsong... among other things.

thank you for sharing this beauty.

I found you via the very special Delwyn's blog. Just wanted to say "hi" and I like your blog. I am a mother of three grown children, have been divorced and am a lawyer.

Hi Meri,
I love those multilayered colours...

I am stopped more and more each day by all the little things: perhaps the structure of a flower, the antics of an animal, a proud tree, the rustle of a palm frond, the sun on a tree trunk, the patterns in the rainforest, the crows on the TV aerial, or the possum gallumphing over the tin roof...

I don't think I will ever run out of awe....

Ia m glad that you too take time to notice these things and we can share ...

Just beautiful... What makes me pause? Usually everything when I'm outside in nature, that's why I never get anywhere after I leave my house. =)
Beautiful photos and colors! I used to paint scenes like these...
