The old haiku masters are both wise and enigmatic. Have you read anything by Masaoka Shiki (1867-1902) or Yosa Buson (1716-1783)? I think you'd enjoy their work.

Yes I Know what you mean, we started watching some Japanese based TV as a refreshing change, their relationship to the blossom tree is something special and lifting, as are your words and image.

What happens, though simple,is an abundance of beauty making us forget our trials for a moment.
Thank you dearest Mer.

This is a magnificent haiku. I love it. Thank you for sharing it, Meri !
Have a great weekend!
I have to say Meri, that I can connect with your haiku this week. It is beautiful and I love the traditional image. There are always trials and yet we must maintain hope that Spring always comes and angels are afoot. I am trying to keep that in mind.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog and posting. I love yours, too. This group is so welcoming. I am happy to be with all of you!
Beautiful woodcut and haiku! Yes, at a certain point, after you've tried your best, you have to let go of contol, stand back, and let the chips fall where they may. This would make a great mantra! Thanks, Meri.
