Longing

Longing is the voice of your soul.

It constantly calls you to be fully present
in your life: to live to the full
the one life given to you.

John O'Donohue (Eternal Echoes)

I long for inspiration, to stumble into love,
to feel as if I can stop juggling projects
 and bring them to fruition.

I long to be heard,
to make a difference,
to just BE instead of DOING way too often.

I long to let go of things not worth holding on to
so my life can hold things shiny and new.
I long to learn how.

Where is your soul calling you?

I don't really hear my soul calling. Things are pretty quiet around these parts.
Thanks for this stimulating post.

Have a nice day, Boonie

i hear my soul call. i hear it call loud and i know exactly where it wants to be, exactly what it wishes to do. but circumstances prevent me... so i long for things to be different so that i may pursue my dreams and let my soul sing.

Know what ? I think I have become pretty good, right now, at listening to my longings. That amazes me. I am at a place where the BEing is really good. That amazes me too. I am infinitely grateful for it.
Off to play with paint, like I am longing to do...
Happy, Happy New Year to your longing soul, Lovely Meri !

The Gandhi quote is always calling my soul to ....Be the change that I wish to see in the world. If everyone would follow suit what a beautiful world this would be.

It is just like John O'Donohue said.
My longing is to be lead by my spirit
and to live fully there. My ego has been in charge too long.

at the moment, my soul is calling me to the depths.. dark nights of my soul.. where I use to fight these, I am learning to go with them.. to sit with God in stillness..

Yep! That's what I have to do this new year, the same idea I had at this time last year but my journey became saving my life in 2010 and now, 2011.I have a BIG job ahead of me de-cluttering!!First things first, taking down the Christmas decorations! Phew! (((((Meri)))))
Meri,
I love John O'Donohue. And I understand this desire of which you speak. I am always longing for connection. I think it keeps me from doing what I need to be doing to ultimately be connected. I want to simply finish one project that would let me know that I had completed what I started out to do. I feel that if I am able to complete my thesis, I will have at least not simply started something that I believed would be life changing and not finished it. If I don't finish it I will never know what it is like to be on the other side, and the possibility of being heard in that community of people, other therapists, will never materialize. That is my hope for this year.

Beautiful! My soul is calling for me to quit my day job which is causing a ton of stress in my life. Alas I need it for the money, at least for now. Love the pictures on your blog and the motivating words.

>I long to be heard, to make a difference<

The anthem of my life. Each day is an opportunity to make a difference. Even if we don't use our voice, our actions make us heard as we make a difference.
