Cat

I've loved a lot of cats in my life.

One of the currents loves is my dilute Calico

whose name is Deja Mew.

And this is Deja Mew's brother,

Purrsnickety.

Their immediate predecessor

was the dainty Shadow.

She was a long-haired Tortoiseshell feline

with a refined personality 

and a preference for vomiting up hairballs

only on the expensive rugs.

Still makes me tear up 

to see her picture.

They just purr their way into our hearts

and stay there, even after they're gone.
