Wall Flower

Image
I don't know why I'm so drawn to walls with layers of paint and shabby old posters, with colors new and old announcing their presence. Perhaps it's that the wall's story is whispered through time, a history in which little glimpses of the past still peek through to the present in unexpected ways. Whatever the reason, you can expect to find me taking pictures of walls. Does that mean I'm a wall-flower? (I'm joining Deb for Mexico Monday , since all these photos were taken on our recent trip to San Miguel de Allende and nearby towns. )

Monday Mosaic: Guerilla Art

As long as it's in the proper place and legal . . .  it can add color and zip to a blank wall space. For more Mosaic Monday posts, click HERE . And for a fascinating article about the creativity of graffiti artists that SPERLYGIRL brought to my attention, click here .

Riding the Rails

"Raspberries" © 2009 Meri Arnett-Kremian One of my neighbors to the north and fellow blogger Delorse  did a post about rail graffiti  not too long ago. She called these spray-painters "the cowboys of the Art World" and likened boxcars to an art gallery riding the rails. Now, as you can see, I was intrigued by boxcar graffiti last summer. So I'm wondering -- would anyone play along if we had a day (preferably when we'd all had some warm weather to go out shooting) to post boxcar art photos?
