Knowing Where I'm Going

Image
I may not know where I'm going right now and trying to plot a path  by thinking - thinking - thinking doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere but crazy. Wherever I'm heading I know I'll have my camera in hand. That's one thing I can be certain about. The viewfinder helps me focus on things that I might not notice if I weren't looking at possibilities with an artist's eye. The process of capturing the vibrancy  and beauty of this living, breathing Mother we call Earth (and those that call her Home)  an image at a time gives me joy. And I'm certain that joy is a road-marker guiding me along my path. What certainties help anchor you to your life and keep you moving  along your path?

Speechless with Awe

There are moments when the absolute magnificence of Nature renders me speechless. The sun sinking toward the western waters, the silhouetted thistles, the amethyst hillock hiding in the lower right corner of the viewfinder. "No Words" copyright 2009 Meri Arnett-Kremian. The kind of exquisite majesty that causes your eyes to brim with tears and you to whisper a thanks to Spirit. There are no words for something so spectacular, something that unobservant someone didn't even notice. And quite likely that person would never understand your sense of awe. But you can hope.

Another Reflection

There were the realistic pieces: the wild flowers in a vacant lot, the graffiti on a boxcar on the nearby train tracks, bits of architecture. Lots of pics to use on my Tacoma Photo blog. And there were some artsy images, like the one above. Friday I printed it and put it in a Target frame that came with glass and a mat. Took it down to the volunteers organizing the Peninsula Art League 's member show at Key Bank during PAL's annual arts & crafts fair. Because I hadn't paid for a pro ...
