Looking Forward to Spring

Daffodils are pushing up,
tall and green and just beginning
to show their blossom color.
Peony shoots of bright red peek out of the ground,
as if they're tempting the deer
to snack on them.

But today, there was a ten minute hail storm,
so noisy the dogs were disturbed,
leaving a coating of white on the ground
and clinging to the skylights.

One thing I know,
spring will be here soon.
The bird symphony
and the evening frog chorus
are heralds.

It's always lovely to read your prose. It's been awhile since I've visited the blogosphere and I've missed it terribly.
