Share the Joy: Hummingbirds, Polyvore, and Blog Friends

An October storm roared through a few nights ago,
Stripping leaves from the vine maple outside my office window.
Some hung on for dear life, but it’s easy now
To see the structure of this tree.
It’s also much easier to see the hummingbird
Who loves to perch on the highest point,
resting at a still point for longer
than I’ve ever seen one sit.
Then he she? zips away.
They’re such amazing little creatures
They make my heart hum with JOY.

"Palais des Papes"  - one of my Polyvore creations

A new-to-me Polyvore group called "The Collagists"
is hosting a competition featuring collages
in the style of Nick Bantock. (Think Griffin & Sabine).

So, as you can tell, I seized the opportunity
to include an image of my little feathered friend.

Bantock's style is far more whimsical and cluttered
than I'm drawn to, but it's been a JOY
to push myself to explore new possibilities.

I also was overJOYed when I learned that this piece

"Inner Realms" - one of my Polyvore creations
had been named one of Polyvore's top sets yesterday.
That's the first time it's happened.

And finally,
it's given me JOY to peek in on your blogs this week,
seeing what you're doing,
to hear from some of you.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating
I feel like the web of friendship
that we're weaving here in Bloglandia
is a web of peace
and our efforts to touch each other,
to connect, to offer and receive support,
is holy work.

What brings you JOY this week?

To play along
1. do a post that tells and shows what gives you joy.

2. capture the URL of the specific post and paste it into
the Mr. Linky box along with your info.

3. Then click the NEXT box (or the time) to choose an image
from the post to insert in Mr. Linky's list
so people get a sneak peek.

(And if you just can't get it to work,
email me and I'll try to link it for you.)

4. Visit other players and let their joy infect you.
Leave them a comment because everyone
 enJOYS getting positive feedback.

Let's start an epidemic of JOY!

I have a thing for hummingbirds too, Meri. My dad always had his feeder full of red liquid for those zippy sweet things at our cottage in the woods. Love them !
Your piece is amazing ! Soo glad it got some recognition for its beauty from people you have connected with here in Bloglandia. I have had less time (taken less time ?) for blogging lately but I am always so grateful for the connections to other like-minded creative Souls that blogging provides.
Thank you for bringing us together in joy each week, Lovely One !
