Postcards from Paradise: Venezia

One place I call a heart-home

Or Paradise, if you will,

Is Venice, Queen of the Sea.

She called her siren song to me the first time

when I was deeply in love with my beloved,

and we explored her charms together.

When I was back to just me,

I feared it was the memory of “us”

that I loved about Venice

and not Venice herself,

so I revisited her alone

with great trepidation.

But no, it was the lady herself

in all her many moods

who had whispered to my heart

and beckoned me back.

Meri, I admire you so much to have the love in yourself to go back to discover the magic. You make it look like a paradise I want to explore.

I have never visited Venice but your photos make me wish I had. My friend Roz at Autumn Cottage also loves Venice. I've been to the Venetian in Vegas!

You took me to one of the most magical places on earth. My heart is still beating. I did not expect to see these sights that are burned in my memory. Both your photo and your words move me.
